I have to admit, I'm more than hooked. I finished the latest one, Fearless Fourteen, in about a day. Although, and I hope I'm not giving anything away, she drives the same car in the whole book.
There are 17 Plum stories, books 1 through 14 and 3 inbetween the numbers books. The inbetween books are usually a little shorter and involve a holiday and a little holiday magic. A new inbetween book is due out in January of 2009.
The books center around Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter from New Jersey. There are so many other characters that reappear throughout the books. Luckily, her grandmother appears in them all because she is so funny. Her mother, a closet drinker, just wants Stephanie to settle down and get a job in the button factory.
Now I have to wait until January to get my next fix. C'mon, can't be that far away!

I absolutely love Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum series! I was hooked after I read the first book! I did feel some of the latter ones were a bit lame but the last one I read which was number 13 was back to her humorous great read storyline that got me hooked in the first place!
I used to love the Stephanie Plum books but after a while, they all seemed to blend together. I think I stopped at Eleven on Top. After reading Kim's comment and your post, I may have to power through it and see if it picks up the pace.
Hmm...the same car through the whole book. I will have to read that one.
